OUR STORY

While serving as chaplains at their local High School, Amie and Lesley recognised a need for girls to have a little time out, away from the hustle and bustle of the world, a little sanctuary from the everyday pressures of teenage life. Over the next year the group developed from meeting in school every week to meeting outside of school once a month. Sanctuary Girls began and together they embarked on the adventure of discipleship.

During this time, God stirred up a passion to see girls across Scotland gather together and celebrate the power that God has given them to shape their surrounding culture and transform their local communities. The Sanctuary Conference was created to empower, equip and inspire the local church to disciple young women with courageous faith, helping them to not only seek God’s calling for their lives as individuals but teaching them how to build up one another as sisters in Christ.

Purpose

To gather young women and their leaders together, so that we may encourage one another in seeking a closer relationship with God, a better understanding of scripture and greater courage in living out our faith well.

Vision

We want to inspire young women to harness the God-given goodness of their friendships, give them permission to both engage with and shape the culture around them, and enable them to be community changers for Christ.

Ethos

At Sanctuary we want to be unashamed in speaking up about the real life issues that matter. We seek to create a safe space to learn from and share with leaders who can speak from both personal experience and biblical wisdom.
